We have two urgent open casting calls for two roles on the forthcoming BBC Drama THE FALL starring Gillian Anderson. Please see below to see whether you or anyone you know fits either brief and follow the instructions if so. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE OR KNOW ACTRESSES AGED 17-20 WITH MUSICAL ABILITY & LOOK YOUNGER THAN THEIR AGE We are URGENTLY looking for FEMALES aged 17-20 years old, who look 15 years old maximum with acting experience from Northern Ireland (or the Republic of Ireland) who can SING and/ or play the GUITAR or PIANO (even if at basic level) for the significant and challenging speaking role of KATIE in the 5 part serial killer drama THE FALL starring Gillian Anderson which will be filmed in Belfast between the end of March – beginning of June 2012. THE FALL is a gripping psychological thriller that forensically examines the lives of two hunters. One is a serial killer who stalks his victims at random in and around Belfast and the other is a talented female Detective Superintendent on secondment from the MET who is brought in to catch him. Produced by Artists Studio and written by Allan Cubitt (The Runaway, Murphy’s Law, Prime Suspect), the five episodes will follow the police investigation uncovering the intricate story of the lives entangled by a series of murders – both the killer's and the victims’ families. The girl we are searching for will play the role of the 15 year old Katie, brought up by her single mum in Northern Ireland, rather than being a “girly teenager” she is a tough cookie that having hit puberty has just realized her sexual prowess and is playing with it like a toy as she flirts with an older married man that she babysits for. She MUST have a young enough look to be believably 15. So if you are a very young looking 17-20 year old girl who can act, sing and play guitar or piano from the North of Ireland preferrably or South of Ireland you need to do the following 2 things: 1. We need you to send us in a recording of yourself playing the part of Katie, it doesn’t have to be highly professional, even recorded on a mobile phone is acceptable as long as it is watchable and clear. Begin the clip with an improvisation as if you were Katie in the story – introduce who you are, why you are posting this clip on YouTube and why you have chosen the song you have / what the song means to you. Then perform a song of your choice, preferably playing guitar or piano. It should be a song that’s beautiful in a simple and direct way. As you are making it “in character” It should be filmed with an obviously low cut top on. 2. Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and email us the link (preferably without a password) along with the following: • Your name • Age • Height • Area you live • Details of other acting you have done • Contact telephone number • A clear recent photo of your head and shoulders with little or no make up on that we can clearly see your face and hair Send it to [email protected], please ensure that all the above information is on the same email.
