Right to Work Status / Requirements

14 October 2023

To accept work with our agency you need to provide us with documentation to prove your Right To Work (RTW) in the UK.  Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions.

I have an Irish Passport – Do I need to prove my Right to Work (RTW) in the UK?

The Common Travel Area (CTA) is a long-standing arrangement between the UK and Ireland that predates both British & Irish membership of the EU and is not dependant on it.

Under the CTA, British & Irish Citizens can move freely and reside in either jurisdiction and the associated rights and privileges, including the RTW.

Therefore, although Ireland is still a member of the EU, if you are an Irish Citizen with a valid Irish passport and a UK National Insurance number, we don’t need any further evidence from you to prove your RTW in the UK.

I am an EU Citizen (Excluding Irish Identity) what do I need to provide you with to prove my RTW in the UK?

Alongside your ID (Passport is preferable) you will need to provide us with a Share Code to prove your RTW in the UK you can do this via the link below:

https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work/get-a-share-code-online

  • Share codes are only valid for 30 days, if you have an older one you may need to generate a new one.
  • We will use the share code along with the information from your profile to download the document showing your status and retain a copy of this on your profile.
  • We cannot rely on a copy of this document; we have to check the share code ourselves and generate our own copy

Once you have your share code you can share it directly from the Home Office website to [email protected]

I am a non-EU Citizen what do I need to provide you with to prove my RTW in the UK?

I am in the UK on a Student Visa; can I join your agency?

Unfortunately not, we are unable to register anyone who is in the UK on a Student Visa.  The terms of a Student Visa prevent you from being Self Employed.  All extras work is classified as self-employed.

I am an EU / EU Citizen with the RTW in Ireland, can I film in productions in NI?

If you can provide us with proof via a share code that you have the right to work in the UK then of course!  If you only have the RTW in ROI then unfortunately you cannot be cast in any of our productions filming in Northern Ireland however we will be able to consider you for any of our productions filming in ROI.
